What is NVO (National External Assessment) in mathematics?
HVO after 7th grade is a standardized test that assesses students’ knowledge of mathematics for all students in Bulgaria.
The exam is in two parts/modules.
In the first part, in 1 hour and 15 minutes, students answer 20 questions with a choice of 4 answers (for a total of 65 points). Here it is necessary to work for time, for an optimal solution, fast but accurate calculations and accurate knowledge of the material of the 6th and 7th grades and the methods of solving it.
In the second part, in 1 hour and 30 minutes, students answer three in-depth questions with several sub-conditions (for a total of 35 points). Here it is necessary to work concentratedly and use the detailed knowledge of the late study material of the 7th grade.
These require high level knowledge of Bulgarian, so bilingual and foreign students need a lot of additional preparation.
